German Chamber of Commerce in North China Welcomes New Executive Director & Board Member: Mr. Oliver Oehms

The German Chamber of Commerce in North China is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Oliver Oehms as Executive Director and Board Member, effective October 1, 2024. Mr. Oehms brings a wealth of international experience within the German Chamber network and currently serves as CEO of the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce in the United Arab Emirates (AHK) and as Delegate of German Industry and Commerce to Iraq. Previous postings took Oliver to Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Since the year 2000, he has been working in various Chambers and other business organizations both within Germany and internationally.

Representing the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) as well as the German Chamber of Commerce in North China, Mr. Oehms’ official roles will be:

  • Chief Representative of the Delegation of German Industry & Commerce Beijing
  • Executive Director & Board Member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China - North China

“I look forward to personally engage with our members and provide them with the best support possible”, says Oliver Oehms. “After nine years in the Middle East, I am excited to start a new chapter in China. This is also a homecoming of sorts for me, as my international career began in Asia back in 2009 after dedicating many years to working with the German Chamber organization." Speaking about the business relationship between China and Germany, Oliver Oehms emphasizes the importance of keeping our shared goals and interests in mind and fostering greater understanding on both sides.
