Sino-German Wuhan International Industrial Park

Seated at the intersection of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway and G318 National Highway, the Caidian Economic Development Zone is a provincial development zone located in Caidian District with a total planning area of 100km2 and close to the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, and it is a core part of “China’s Capital of Motor”. With excellent supporting conditions, the regional topography of the Caidian Economic Development Zone is characterized by hilly land, and the availability of water, electricity, road, phone, TV, bus, broad band and land leveling of the project have been fully completed. Many universities and vocational schools have been built around it, with a workforce of over 200,000. Within its radius of 20km, there are hospitals such as Tongji Hospital Sino-French New City Branch, Union Jiangbei Hospital and Wuhan Changfu Hospital; within its radius of 10km, there are hotels such as Liantou Peninsula Hotel & Resort, Hilton Wuhan Riverside and InterContinental Wuhan. It is also adjacent to a small European-style town named Ville Des Fleurs and a 110km suburban greenway around the Houguan Lake.

The Caidian Economic Development Zone is generally oriented toward four strategic industries, including autos and auto parts, electronic information, equipment manufacturing and smart home, and promotes the medium and high-end upgrading of autos and auto parts, electronic display, equipment manufacturing, etc. There are more than 360 industrial enterprises settled in, including Gree, OPPEIN, Man Wah, Denso, Simens, Jingdong, Faurecia, Webasto, BorgWarner, TPV, Makino, Unipres, Metal One, Topre, Okamoto and Cooper Standard.

On September 7, 2019, Ms. Merkel, the then German Chancellor, visited Wuhan and attended the completion and launching ceremony of Webasto Wuhan in Caidian, and a discussion was carried out between Wuhan and the German delegation on building the Sino-German Wuhan International Industrial Park in Caidian District. The Sino-German Wuhan International Industrial Park is located in the core of the Caidian Economic Development Zone, with a planned area of 10.45km2, including a starting area of 5km2 and an expansion area of 5.45km2. It mainly develops in the industrial directions of auto parts, equipment manufacturing and electronic appliances, with the purpose of building a highland of industrial-technological innovation and a leading open platform. It aims to improve further the Sino-German regular cooperation and coordination mechanism, build a bridge for the Sino-German international exchange, and attract continuously investment and talents from overseas. Many German-funded projects have settled in the Park, such as the leading German automobile sunroof manufacturer Webasto’s world’s largest factory, Siemens Industrial Internet Enabling Center, Thermoplus Environment Technology High-end Heat Pump R&D Center, Schlemmer Auto Parts Production Base, Osann’s Second Global Headquarters and R&D, Sino-German Industry-Education Integration Innovation Center of Rhein-Koester Central China, etc.

Caidian District is actively implementing various initiatives to optimize the business environment, enhancing substantially the international, legal and accessible level of the business environment, and upgrading constantly the project settlement speed in Caidian. The Sino-German Wuhan International Industrial Park has introduced the Incentive Measures for Investment Promotion of Sino-German Wuhan International Industrial Park against the national standards of the most preferential policies, the most efficient services and the greatest support, giving strong care for German-funded enterprises from the aspects of land, plant, settlement, fixed asset investment, finance, talents, etc.
