Foshan Sino-German Industrial Services Zone
OVERVIEW
Covering a planned area of 130 km2, the Foshan Sino-German Industrial Services Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "Services Zone") is located in the eastern part of Foshan and borders Guangzhou. From the Services Zone, it takes only 5 minutes to the Guangzhou South Railway Station and 30 minutes to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport by car, and 29 minutes to Shenzhen by high-speed train.
LEADING INDUSTRIES
The Services Zone is a new city area with a strong industrial foundation. It is home to more than 400 Hi-Tech enterprises, 24 listed enterprises, and headquarters of two Fortune 500 companies.
The industrial system includes:
1. Advanced Manufacturing Industries (robotics, CNC machining, smart home appliances)
2. Strategic Emerging Industries (AI, biotech, new materials)
3. Manufacturing-related Service Industries (industrial design, industrial exhibition)
The output value of the industrial robot industry in the Services Zone accounts for approximately 6% of that of China’s industrial robot market, with leading companies such as KUKA, Kawasaki, Estun, Rossum and Han’s Robot settling down in the region.
A COMMON CHOICE FOR GERMAN COMPANIES
In August 2012, under the joint witness of the Chinese Premier and German Chancellor, the MofCom and the BMWi signed the "Joint Statement on Further Promoting Bilateral Investment", in which the Foshan Sino-German Industrial Services Zone, a future-oriented cooperation platform between China and Germany, was listed. In recent years, the Services Zone has attracted a number of German (European) projects, including Asia Pacific Headquarters of OSRAM, KUKA's largest factory in China, South China Production Base of CLOOS Robotic Welding, leading manufacturer on hospital and nursing beds - Stiegelmeyer's China headquarters and production base, Asian Headquarters of LUQOM Group, Joint Venture of Siemens Mobility and Foshan Rail Investment Group, China Headquarters of FÖRCH Group, Guangdong Production Base of GRENZEBACH, Production Base of Philips Water Solutions, and more.
SUPPORTIVE SERVICES
The Services Zone is dedicated to enhancing the local business climate for companies from German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg).
First of all, by the end of 2022, the Services Zone promulgated a supportive policy which provides a maximum amount of 20 million RMB per company for investors from German-speaking countries, including incentives for company settling down, and subsidies for company renting and purchasing properties.
Secondly, the Services Zone has specifically established the Tech-Workshop for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, providing facilities and space for corporate R&D, manufacturing, product display, warehousing, and other living services.
Thirdly, the Services Zone has launched the “GBA Sino-German Market Partner Project" to support companies from German-speaking countries without presence in the Greater Bay Area to expand into the GBA market. The project offers GBA market entry services such as customer match-making, product display, and local industry reports.
