Sino-Swiss Zhenjiang Ecological Industrial Park/ZETDZ
Born from the harbor and flourished by the Yangtze River, the Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone/ZETDZ was founded in 1992 and upgraded to a national ETDZ in 2010. Located in the east side of Zhenjiang downtown area, ZETDZ has a total area of 228 km2 and a permanent resident population of 280,000. The location is superior in transportation: surrounded by three airports, connected by three highways, railroads and bridges. A multi-dimension transportation network has been formed. Adjacent to Shanghai and Nanjing metropolitan circles, ZETDZ, as a core area of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the Yangtze River strategic Economic Belt, has attracted total FDI of US$10 billion in the past 30 years. 30+ Fortune 500 companies have settled their footprints here. In the year of 2021, local GDP reached RMB 77.6bn and total import and export volume stood at USD 4 bn.
ZETDZ has established so called “4+1” pillar industries, which are New Energy, New Materials, Aviation and Aerospace, Life Science and Intelligent Manufacturing. More than 20 German companies operate here, including chemical giants such as BASF and Evonik as well as family-owned hidden champion companies like Gerresheimer and Straub. Moreover, ZETDZ has attracted other European companies such as Shell, Total, Sandvik, Solvay, Clariant, Araymond, Wartsila, etc.
There will be a liaison team who are proficient in English and Deutsch, specifically providing consulting services for AHK member companies. The team will be responsible for communicate between different local departments, such as commerce bureau, reform and development commission, environmental protection bureau, natural resources and planning bureau, tax bureau, etc. to provide one-stop services from commercial registration, investment approval to bank account opening, finance & HR consulting. ZETDZ will offer a range of preferential policies such as construction subsidies, rental exemption, foreign paid-in capital reward, operation reward, talent program, etc. with details to be discussed. There are more than 30 universities and colleges in Zhenjiang with roughly 60, 000 graduates to the job market.
ZETDZ will offer efficient services & innovative integrated management. Over 80% of issues can be solved online with non-meeting approval. By integrating its internal resources, regional shared assessments are innovatively implemented. ZETDZ has been the pioneer of issuing construction permits and land certificates at the same time, in order to turn itself into an efficient district through “the least number of approval matters, the highest efficiency, the strongest innovation and entrepreneurial vitality”.
