Jiujiang City

Jiujiang is one of the top 100 cities in China, an important pivot point for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, an important component of the urban cluster in the central region and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and a “bridgehead” for the development of the Inland Opening-up Pilot Economic Zone in Jiangxi Province, as well as a port city for national logistics. Currently, it is focusing on accelerating the construction of regional shipping center, strengthening the free trade zone, enhancing the function of port city, developing the cross-border e-commerce and growing the digital economy.

By the end of 2021, there were 13 provincial-level or above parks in the city, including 2 at the national level and 11 at the provincial level, with an area of 150.1 square kilometers. There are 1,612 industrial enterprises in the parks, employing 247,000 people.

Founded in 1992, the Jiujiang National E&T Development Zone (JEDZ) is located in the southwest of Jiujiang City, with a core area of more than 70 square kilometers and a population of about two hundred thousand, as well as more than 500 industrial enterprises.

The project is settled in the JEDZ, that is, “setting the factory in the market”. There are effective radiation of about 300 million people in the central area within a radius of 300 km, which can radiate not only the central city agglomeration market, but also the overseas market through river-sea transportation.

JEDZ adheres to the development ideas of “leading industry, project promotion, innovation drive, harbour city linkage”, gives prominence to the  development of electrical and electronic, petrochemical, “sanxin economic” three key direction, the expansion of industrial clusters, preliminary formation electronic first development, new energy and new materials, equipment manufacturing, auto parts and focuses on development, at the same time, actively supports the specialization, “new” strategic emerging industries, both development needed for the production and living of the modem service industry cluster development pattern.

At present, there are 12 colleges and universities, with 150 thousand students studying at colleges and secondary schools. Moreover, JEDZ also maintains long-term cooperation with more than 100 universities. The city has a human resources market, eight personnel social service centers and 39 personnel social service platforms. There are more than 30,000 job registrants annually. All kinds of inter-disciplinary talents are available for enterprises.

Compared with the first-tier cities in coastal areas, the comprehensive salary level in Jiujiang is 15%~20% lower, indicating an obvious manpower cost advantage.

JEDZ enjoys the provincial approval authority, which is the first batch of pilot units for the reform of the “document and license are detached” in Jiangxi Province. It fully implements the service reform for government affairs of “only run once” “don’t run once”, and implements the “green channel” for project administrative approval, and the time limit is more than 50% shorter than the national standard. At the same time, it takes the lead in establishing the accountability mechanism of “enterprise evaluates the park and the park evaluates the department” in the province to create a first-class business environment and provide all-round, all-weather, one-stop and nanny professional services for enterprises.
