Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park
The Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park was established in 2018 with a total area of 27.5 km², located in the west of Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. Recently, SGIP has been one of the ideal investment destinations in China for the small and medium-sized companies from German-speaking countries and regions and also the platform for the exchange of Sino-German cultural, educational and other two-way communication.
SGIP was designated as German Industry 4.0 (Changzhou) Manufacturing Base by Baden-Württemberg State and Jiangsu Provincial Government in 2018, and was recognized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce as one of the First Batch of Provincial-Level International Cooperation Industry Parks in 2020. In 2022, SGIP was designated as the Sino-German Demonstration Project of Energy Efficiency in City Quarters by the Development and Reform Commission of China and Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany. Additionally, SGIP has already established all-round support work mechanisms with different-level government departments, can help the companies interested in China market and the ones planning to expand to Europe to find the best solutions for further development.
As a young international park, over 60 companies from German-speaking countries and regions resided in SGIP, mainly focusing on E-mobility, electronics & communications, biotechnology & medical device and high-end equipment manufacturing industries, among which there are MD Electronics - the famous auto electronics manufacturer from Germany, SGB - the famous German dry-type transformer manufacturer, Eckert & Ziegler - the well-known German supplier of radioactive medical devices, and Schweizer - the world-leading producer of PCBs, Festool – the world-renowned manufacturer of power and pneumatic tool, RAPA, Zimmer, Kesseböhmer, etc.
With various customized supporting policies to investors, more and more enterprises have chosen SGIP and won success. For each project, we set up a specific professional service team with multi-lingual team members to provide all-around services to investors covering investment approval, business registration, environmental protection approval, energy efficiency evaluation, workshop construction and other services.
SGIP is located in the city with abundant high-quality education and local human resources in China. Each year, more than 38,000 students graduate from local universities and vocational colleges every year. One of the top universities in China - Hohai University has relocated its new campus here in 2023. The HWK Training and Certification Base for Highly-Skilled Talents in German Dual System education has been established in SGIP to provide customized training programs at different levels. In addition, SGIP has abundant labor resources, including plenty of local skilled technical workers, with a significantly competitive labor cost in the Yangtze River Delta region.
SGIP offers multi-function platforms combining the product show, networking and exchange, conference as Sino-German (Changzhou) Center and Incubation & Entrepreneurship Center, for newly established European companies to start up everything from here at the lower cost, with abundant land resources and existing standard workshops for different choices. Various living facilities such as German Beer Bar Zapfler, Marriot Hotel, an international hospital, and an international school are located in close proximity. The different social events in SGIP organized by different-level governments and organizations, such as Jiangsu Dialogue with Germany, Sino-German Economic Cooperation Forum, Oktoberfest, etc. every year, are pushing the two-way exchange between China and Germany.
