The 9th German Soccer Championship in Beijing!

And the Winner 2021 is…Ameco!

On Saturday, May 29, 2021, it was time again for the traditional German Soccer Championship at a new venue: next to Wangjing Culture Square where Discover Germany took place. The Sino-German business community came together to cheer for the eight teams of the tournament, that competed with great commitment and passion for the title of the 9th German Soccer Champion in Beijing.

After a day full of turbulent and exhilarating soccer matches, Daimler was in the finals again after winning the cup in 2017 and 2015. This time they had to compete against Ameco for the trophy. After being defeated in the finals three times in a row, Ameco, this time, won the tournament for the first time, scoring 1:0 versus Daimler. This year’s bronze medal went to BMW. The Most Valuable Player of the day was Tong Liu the #38 from Ameco, the top scorer, Julian Keidler, came from Daimler, and the award for the Best Goalkeeper went to Wei Lu, #1 from Siemens. This year’s Fair Play Award went to the Ernst & Young team.

Like in 2019, well-experienced coaches from Germany’s first league soccer club Bayer 04 Leverkusen gave children the great opportunity to gain first-hand practice in a professional soccer training. We want to say special thanks to Mr. Patrick Stüber, Chief Representative, Bundesliga; Mr. Marius Lorenz, Sportive Coordinator China, Borussia Dortmund; Mr. Conrad Ziesch, Head of China, FC Schalke 04 and Mr. Oskar Richard Braun, Coach, Bayer 04 Leverkusen for attending the event and handing over the awards. Besides, a big thank you goes to our committed live commentators Mr. Jason Crawford and Mr. Owen Johnston who created such a vibrant and competitive atmosphere.

A warm thank you goes out to all teams, event partners, sponsors, soccer clubs and volunteers as well as the soccer committee who made this tournament a memorable and enjoyable day. After the restrictions due to Covid19 last year, the German Chamber was very happy indeed to spend the day together with you. Meeting you all in Beijing and enjoying this great tournament was a real honor for all of us. We are looking forward to seeing you all at the 10^th German Soccer Championship Beijing next year!
