BJS Ceramics GmbH is looking for a business partner in China
Company Name : BJS Ceramics GmbH
Country in which the company is located: Germany
About BJS Ceramics GmbH:
BJS Ceramics GmbH is a private start-up company that carved out the business area „preceramic polymers and Silicon Carbide (SiC)-fibers” from SGL Carbon GmbH in 2014. Since then, BJS Ceramics GmbH develops preceramic polymers and SiC fibers. In February 2021, it started producing SiC fibers in the fiber pilot plant that Fraunhofer ISC built in Bayreuth using BJS’ patented technology. SiC fibers are used in SiC fiber reinforced SiC components in aero-engines to reach higher operating temperatures and hence improved efficiency, so that CO2-emissions in aviation can be significantly reduced. Also SiC-fiber reinforced components enable turbines to run on 100 % hydrogen as a fuel. By this, turbines burn hydrogen which results in electricity, pure water and zero CO2-emissions. Additional major applications are e.g. the storage of hydrogen in low pressure vessels, and the hydrogen electrolysis in which SiC fibers replace rare elements such as platinum. About BJS Composites GmbH:
The founders of BJS Ceramics GmbH founded BJS Composites GmbH in 2015 in order to acquire the Ceramic Center of MT Aerospace AG. In this Center, we produce mainly Silicon Carbide (SiC) fiber- reinforced SiC components as well as Carbon fiber reinforced SiC components in a patented production process. These high-performance ceramic components are used in aerospace and industrial applications like energy generation and water management. The patented supply chain of the BJS companies offers innovative solutions for most aggressive operating conditions where other materials fail. Products or services offered:
- Silicon Carbide Fibers (Generation 2 and Generation 3 [stoichiometric]; ultra-high temperature-resistant, lightweight, reinforcement for ceramic composite components for aviation, space, industrial applications)
- Silicon Carbide Fiber-reinforced Silicon Carbide Components (according to customer drawings; ultra-high temperature resistant, mechanically strong, chemically resistant (e.g. Hydrogen), ductile, lightweight for most compact engineering design solutions in aviation, space – e.g. reentry vehicles, and industrial applications – e.g. pumps)
- Carbon Fiber-reinforced Silicon Carbide Components (according to customer drawings; high-temperature resistant, mechanically strong, ductile, chemically resistant, lightweight for compact engineering design solutions in aerospace and industrial applications)
- Thermal treatments (according to customer specifications)
- We also develop products with our customers.
What kind of business contacts are you looking for:
- Aero-engine producers – e.g. AECC (Aero Engine Corporation of China). Our Silicon Carbide Fibers are used as reinforcement in Silicon Carbide Composite Components for the Hot Zone of the Aero Engine, thus allowing the Aero-engine to operate more efficiently at higher temperatures, thus reducing Kerosine consumption and CO2-Emissions significantly; less cooling = less noise. Our materials also allow 100 % hydrogen as fuel = zero CO2-emissions.
- Gas turbine producers – e.g. Dongfang Electric Corporation, Harbin Electric Corporation, Shanghai Electric Corporation. Our Silicon Carbide Fibers are used as reinforcement in Silicon Carbide Composite Components for the Hot Zone of the Gas Turbine, thus allowing the Gas Turbine to operate more efficiently at higher temperatures, thus reducing gas consumption and CO2-emissions significantly. Our materials also allow 100 % hydrogen as fuel = zero CO2-emissions.
- High performance pump producers for industrial water management (desalination plants, emergency pumps for nuclear power plants, etc. – our ceramic composite sleeves perform in the harshest conditions and allow even to run dry – critical for all emergency pumps e.g. in nuclear power plants, (petro-)chemical plants, etc.
