The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held from November 5–10, 2023 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The expo will include a Business Exhibition, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, Country Exhibitions, professional supporting activities, and cultural exchange activities. Germany has always been one of the main exhibiting overseas countries at CIIE, with over 100 German companies participating each year since the first CIIE in 2018. As an exhibiting organization that strongly supports CIIE, AHK Greater China continues to organize the German joint pavilions for six consecutive years, which provided support to more than 150 German enterprises. This year, together with 22 German companies and two federal state agencies, AHK Greater China will hold the German National Pavilion in the Country Exhibition Area (Hall 5.2) and the enterprise pavilions across various halls of the Business Exhibition area, including Intelligent Industry & Information Technology (Hall 3), Medical Equipment & Healthcare Products (Hall 8.1), Consumer Goods (Hall 6.1 and 6.2), as well as Food and Agricultural Products (Hall 1.2). The total exhibition area covers 842 square meters.

After a five-year hiatus, the German National Pavilion returns to the CIIE Country Exhibition. As a comprehensive exhibition of Germany's image, it will showcase seven German companies and two federal state agencies. Numerous onsite events will also be presented at the German National Pavilion in Hall 5.2, such as opening of the German Pavilion, presentations by German companies and official organizations of the federal states, roadshow of start-ups from Berlin, various German foods and snacks as well as special giveaways.
