Objectives and Contents

With a history of around 60 years, the technical creation of immersive reality has reached (again) a significant step in its overall life cycle. Whereas the predecessors of Pokémon Go or Oculus could not lean on achievable and mature hardware and thus mainly stick to government/military applications, today, the progress in calculation power paths the way for a first large scale adoption of VR/AR/XR.

The relevant questions now shift to more practical matters: Is there a sustainable business case for industry applications? How can the development be streamlined into the enterprise’s operations? Is the talent available?

The seminar aims to guide how and where businesses can benefit from those technologies. In doing so, there will be three points covered: a general introduction, use cases and examples (beyond marketing and gaming) as well as guidance on XR development.

Training Outline

The seminar covers the following:

Introduction to VR/AR/MR

Use Cases and examples

XR Development Map: Technology, development processes, infrastructure, tools, libraries and suppliers

Training Benefits

After the seminar, the participants can map out what the XR-technologies are (beyond the marketing), how they work and how a development environment is structured. This combined will give guidance to assess whether or not XR should be considered as valuable and applicable technology for the corresponding business objectives.
