German Chamber of Commerce in China Hosts Meeting with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Economic Representatives in Shanghai
Today, the German Chamber of Commerce in China hosted a roundtable meeting with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and economic representatives in Shanghai. The meeting was attended by the Chancellor’s economic delegation as well as executives from German companies located in Shanghai and representatives of six Federal States (Bremen, Lower Saxony, Hesse, Hamburg, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt). During the one-hour meeting, participants discussed several topics related to the challenges and opportunities faced by German companies in China, including issues highlighted in the Chamber's recent survey about the competitive environment in China.
"We are grateful for the Chancellor's valuable engagement with our members and his interest in hearing their views about a range of issues relating to the Chinese market.” said Dr. Clas Neumann, Chairperson of the Board of the German Chamber of Commerce in East China." We were able to address various challenges faced by the companies here in China, and globally," Dr. Neumann added.
