Jiaxing is located at the junction of Zhejiang province , Jiangsu province and Shanghai. 90 km from Shanghai to the northeast, southwest 90 kilometers away from hangzhou, the north is 70 km from suzhou, 40 kilometers southeast of jiaxing port, located in the most economic vitality in China's Yangtze river delta and the center of the eastern coastal economic belt and advantageous geographical position. Located in the center of Yangtze River Delta Region, with a coverage of 3915 km2, Jiaxing has two districts, three county-level cities and two counties with a population of 4.61 million.

Jiaxing economic and technological development zone is located in jiaxing city downtown area, is a typical city development zone, founded in August 1992, is the first batch of zhejiang provincial government approved by the provincial economic development zone, in March 2010, upgraded to state-level economic and technological development zone by the state council for approval.

Human Resources
Jiaxing is the Sub centre of technological innovation in Zhejiang with 39 Research Platforms, such as:
Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University and Zhejiang institute of applied technology of Chinese academy of sciences. 10 universities and colleges, 21 technical vocational schools fill annually 20,000 graduates into local talents pool. So far 161“National Thousand Talents”experts 136“Provincial Thousand Talents experts has worked and resided in Jiaxing.
The dual system has been introduced and applied through Sino-German vocational education cooperation between Jiaxing Technician Institutes and 2025 Sino-German Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance, DVET International Education Group.
As pioneer in one-stop service reform to shorten and simplify the approval procedure, Jiaxing rank No.2 in the comprehensive examination of all the state level economic development area four years in succession.
Integration with Shanghai
On March 29th, 2017, Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government Office issued "On the consent of the establishment of Jiaxing as demonstration area of the full-scale convergence with Shanghai". That’s why Jiaxing is now widely recognized as the "New Xiongan" in the Yangtze River Delta.

- Jiaxing Civil-Military dual use airport will operate in 2019, the 3rd airport of Shanghai.
Zhejiang Sino-German Industrial Park resides in the core area of JXEDZ with the best industrial foundation and fastest development. The Park enjoys unique transportation advantage and complete supporting facilities. Total planned area 4.04 km2.
