The China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE) was successfully held in Shenzhen from September 11 to 13, 2024. This was the second time that companies from Thuringia participated in the expo as a group since 2023.

The China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE) was successfully held in Shenzhen from September 11th to 13th, 2024. LEG Thüringen, together with four optoelectronic companies, namely Docter Optics, LAYERTEC, ROBUST AO, and scia Systems, participated in the CIOE as the " LEG Thüringen Pavilion." This was the second time that Thuringian companies participated in the CIOE as an exhibition group, following their participation in 2023. 

On the afternoon of September 12th, the LEG Thüringen Pavilion held a "Meet and Greet" exchange event. Mr. Thomas Dobrowsky, Head of Market Development East Asia of LEG Thüringen, delivered a brief speech, introducing the cooperation between the LEG Thüringen Pavilion and the CIOE. Mr. Eric Yang, Secretary General of the China International Optoelectronic Exposition, Ms. Sandie Peng, Deputy General Manager of the China International Optoelectronic Expo, and representatives of relevant enterprises came to the LEG Thüringen Pavilion. Exhibitors had in-depth exchanges with representatives of enterprises and institutions present. 

 

Thuringia Optics Industry 

High-power diode lasers, laser scanning microscopes, and aspheric lenses for special filters - these are all examples of Thuringia's precision manufacturing technology. World-renowned companies such as Carl Zeiss, Schott, and JENOPTIK originated in Thuringia, and today they have established international standards in the field of optics. 

Nearly three-quarters of the companies are located in the technology region of Jena-Erfurt-Ilmenau and Gera. Here, multinational companies such as Carl Zeiss and JENOPTIK closely cooperate with some highly innovative and promising enterprises and excellent research institutions.
