Although we are closely connected to the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs) in Germany as part of the global network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, there is no automatic membership with the German Chamber of Commerce in China. More information and benefits of membership can be found here.

Depending on company size, we offer various memberships (“Large,” “Medium,” “Small,” and “Micro”). In addition, there is the option of membership for individuals (“Private/Young Professional Membership”). More information about membership can be found on the respective pages of the Chambers of Commerce for North, East, as well as South and Southwest China.

Annual membership costs range from 1,300 CNY to 11,500 CNY depending on the type of membership. Detailed information can be found on the respective pages of the Chambers of Commerce for North, East, as well as South and Southwest China. 

Through our China-wide events, we connect the Sino-German business community and offer numerous opportunities for networking with potential partners. We can also more effectively bundle our members’ interests for advocacy work and the creation of a better business environment. Furthermore, we offer our members increased visibility within the German business community in China through various sponsorship opportunities. Members also receive exclusive access to selected publications, such as our annual Labor Market & Salary Report.

Membership is valid for one year and is renewed at the beginning of the year. You will receive an email from us with all further information.

We offer services for market entry into China. These include market studies and research, business partner searches, delegation trips, trade fair services, and incubation solutions (office-in-office). 

We also offer services for market expansion in China. These include HR services such as recruiting, legal & investment consulting, accounting and tax advice, visa services, work and residence permits, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) identification for opening bank accounts in Germany. 

No membership is required. Our goal is to support all companies in entering and developing the Chinese market. Therefore, all companies—regardless of legal form, location, or membership—can use the services of AHK Greater China. 

Yes, we can. With our Incubation Solutions concept, we offer German companies a legally compliant, flexible, and cost-effective alternative to a representative office or establishing a subsidiary in China. 

No. Although our focus is on supporting German companies, our services are available to all companies regardless of their country of origin or size. 

With our three main offices in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, as well as eight other offices, we cover numerous regions of the People’s Republic and are at your disposal nationwide. We first prepare an offer and generally charge a fixed fee for services rendered. The amount depends on the actual effort as well as the complexity of the individual customer requirements. You will be informed transparently and in advance about any costs. 

For German companies in the food & agriculture sector as well as in the mining & raw materials industry, de minimis funding can be applied for our services within the framework of our federally funded Competence Center for Food & Agriculture and Competence Center for Mining & Raw Materials. Our goal is to provide German companies with customized support for their China business. Even if you have questions or concerns outside of our listed services, we look forward to hearing from you and having a personal conversation. 

We represent the interests of the German economy and German companies in China so they can operate under fair conditions. More about our advocacy work as well as contact information can be found here. 

We are in constant dialog with Chinese government representatives, produce various publications on economic policy developments, and assess the business climate of companies. In addition, we inform our stakeholders in Germany about the state of the German economy in China, for example, in preparation for high-level political visits. At the same time, we give German companies a voice through our press work with German, Chinese, and international media.
