Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark is located in the northern part of Qingdao West Coast New Area, and it is within China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qingdao Area. It is in the west of the Jiaozhou Bay, connecting the eastern and western urban areas of Qingdao. The Park has formulated an industrial development plan combining 3+ major sectors: integrated circuits, life health, intelligent manufacturing, etc.
In July 2010, the Ecopark was signed under the witness of Chinese Prime Minister and German Chancellor. By now, 65 enterprises from German-speaking countries have registered here. The Ecopark has become one of the industrial parks in northern China with the most German-funded enterprises, including Siempelkamp, ElringKlinger, Continental, Siemens, ebmpapst, Logomat, etc. Besides, enterprises from other countries have also settled here, such as BWT, Ebara, Kapro, etc.
The Ecopark has provincial approval authorities, and it provides preferential policies for foreign enterprises to settle there. Besides, with a young international service team that can provide services in English, German and other languages, the Park provides various services on registration and operation in an effective and efficient way to meet the actual needs of investors. A dedicated supporting group is assigned for each project, which provides one-to-one service.
Qingdao West Coast New Area, where the Park is located, has an annual GDP of over CNY 500 billion with a resident population of about 2.6 million. Metro Line 6 and various bus lines connect the Ecopark to the central area of Qingdao City. The Ecopark is 9 km or a 15 minutes’ drive away from Qingdao Qianwan Port, which ranks as the 4th biggest port in the world, and about 48 km or a 40 minutes’ drive away from Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (F4 standard). Crossroads of main highways are within the park.
There are currently 27 general higher educational institutions and universities in Qingdao, including Ocean University of China, Shandong University (Qingdao) etc. Student enrollment in 2024 was about 421,300.
Within 5 km of the Park, there are the Zhongze Shopping Square, the Qingdao Waltz Plaza and the Qingdao West Coast Wanda Plaza; within 10 km, there are Metro and Changjiang Shopping Plaza, etc.
At present, there are more than 4,900 registered market entities, including 25 projects invested by the Fortune Global 500. The economy and construction achievement of the Ecopark ranked first in the evaluation of all functional areas and parks in Qingdao for many years.
