Kunshan German Industrial Park was founded in 2005. It is a council member of the Sino-German Advisory Committee on Economy and has been awarded Sino-German (Kunshan) SMEs Cooperation Zone nationwide. In 2023, it was recognized by China Centre for Promotion of SME Development as the first Specialized and Innovative Demonstration Industrial Park (Demonstration) in China.
KSGIP is located in the Yangtze River Delta region, the most economically developed area in China. West of Shanghai and east of Suzhou, it is situated in the core of Kunshan City, which has been rated as the No. 1 county-level city in China for 20 years. Generally, transportation is convenient.
At present, eight Fortune 500 corporations have invested companies here, including Wilmar International and TE Connectivity. In total, KSGIP has attracted over 220 European and American companies, with more than 110 German-funded companies, making it an important investment platform for Euro-American small- and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
KSGIP has a clear focus on two leading industries: smart manufacturing and high-end food. The smart manufacturing industry has nurtured four 10-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters, including automobile components, high-end equipment, electronic information and materials manufacturing. Fortune 500 companies as well as large-sized leading companies such as KHS and CIMC Airport Facilities, and a number of high-quality companies and Hidden Champions in niche markets are attracted to be in the park.
The high-end food industry has attracted and nurtured over 40 food companies such as Yihai Kerry, Sunjuice, and Yoplait, with an annual output value of nearly CNY 10 billion. KSGIP has basically formed a complete industrial chain - from “a raw bean” to “a cup of coffee”, from “a grain of wheat” to “a slice of toast”, from “a fruit” to “a bottle of juice”.

Green Business Incubator (Startup Factory)
A cooperation between Zhangpu Government and Startup Factory (Kunshan) Co., Ltd, with a total construction area of 30,000 square meters, mainly targets European and American small- and medium-sized companies and provides supporting resources including recruitment, part and spare purchase, order management, accounting, and intermediary services. More than 40 German companies have started their operations since 2012.
Sino-German (Kunshan) International Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park
A joint project between Zhangpu Town and Suzhou Urban Construction Investment Development Co., Ltd., with a total land area of about 130,000 square meters and a planned total investment of CNY 4 billion, is a large-scale park integrating various industries, offices, R&D and innovation, as well as living facilities.
