In March 2010, it was officially upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone. At present, the zone has a planned and controlled area of 110 km2, with a total population of over 360,000.
In recent years, JXEDZ has been awarded honors including Top 10 Open Platforms of Zhejiang Province, Top 10 Development Zones in Foreign Trade, Top 10 Development Zones in Utilizing Foreign Capital, and Demonstration Zone for Beautiful Parks of Zhejiang Province, and has been selected as one of the first batch of high-energy-level strategic platforms in Zhejiang Province.
JXEDZ fully, accurately, and comprehensively implements the new development philosophy. In accordance with the spatial layout of “One Corridor, One Ring, Four Zones and Twelve Blocks,” it focuses on building and improving the “3+3” industrial structure and vigorously promotes three major manufacturing clusters: high-end equipment manufacturing, high-end healthy food, and future industries.
Up to now, more than 810 foreign-invested enterprises from 45 countries and regions including South Korea, Japan, Europe, the United States, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan have been introduced to the zone. Among them, 333 projects have an investment of over USD 10 million, 52 major projects have an investment of over USD 100 million, and 42 projects are invested by Fortune Global 500 companies such as Germany’s ZF, the United States’ Walmart and Abbott, Japan’s Panasonic, and Denmark’s LEGO.
As the first Sino-German international industrial cooperation park in Zhejiang Province, the Sino-German (Jiaxing) Industrial Cooperation Park was approved by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province in August 2015, with a planned area of 4.04 km2. Focusing on advanced manufacturing industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing and key auto components, it has become an important platform for attracting German-invested and high-quality foreign-funded projects. At present, the park has successfully introduced more than 40 Fortune Global 500 and leading industrial enterprises including ZF and Krauss Maffei. In 2025, the total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the park reached CNY 18.755 billion, with a prominent industrial agglomeration effect.
At present, the first phase of 1.08 km2 of the park has been put into mature operation, and the development and construction of the second phase of 3 km2 is progressing steadily. The high-standard factory buildings built by state-owned capital have been officially put into use, with a total construction area of 169,800 m2, providing high-quality and convenient platform support for projects to “Move-in Ready conditions.”
