CND is home to about 160,000 enterprises, including over 2,200 foreign enterprises from 68 countries and regions, like Rosenberger, thyssenkrupp, Hoerbiger, Wilo, and Guhring from Germany as well as GF, Rieter, Reishauer, Medela, Mettler Toledo, and Magna from other German-speaking countries.
SOLID INDUSTRIAL BASE
The pillar industries of CND are equipment manufacturing industry and advanced material industry. For now, CND is developing six industries: high-end intelligent equipment manufacturing, new energy automobiles and kernel components, new medicine and medical devices, photovoltaic and smart energy, carbon fiber and composite materials, and next-generation information technology.
RICH HUMAN RESOURCES
Known as “the cradle of silver collars”, Changzhou has six universities, 11 colleges, and 19 vocational schools. The city is adopting the German AHK and IHK Dual Training System with plenty of SIEMENS training centers here. The companies in CND are encouraged to cooperate with the schools to cultivate targets talents. Changzhou Technician College of Jiangsu Province is the first technical school in China to launch Sino-German classes.
CONVENIENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
Located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, CND integrates multiple transportation infrastructures including ocean-going port, airport, high-speed railways, highways.
PLEASANT LIVING ENVIRONMENT
As the sister city of Essen, Roth, and Herford, CND enjoys international living conditions. The hospitals in CND provide English-speaking service for foreigners and we have international schools. A strong atmosphere of German lifestyle has been created here. CND hosts the German Beer Festival and International Family Day every year. Statistically, there are over 1,000 foreigners living in CND.
GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES AND TRILINGUAL TEAM
CND has land, workshop solutions, and favorable policies to welcome enterprises from German-speaking countries that intend to develop in East China. Moreover, a professional trilingual (Chinese, English, and German) team from CND will provide one-stop service from site selection and company registration to normal operation. Working with the relevant national and provincial departments, CND took the lead in establishing the Administrative Examination and Approval Bureau in Jiangsu Province with optimized company registration procedures, project approval, EIA approval, and construction application.
GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS
In 2025, in the campaigning for "benchmarking Germany", CND strengthened the engagement with German enterprises, enhanced exchanges with German cities, and accelerated the landing of German projects. German "Hidden Champions" such as HSP and Cyber Technologies chose CND for their first production and R&D facilities in China. Longstanding partners like KSB marked a significant milestone with 20th anniversary in China, demonstrating strong confidence in the local market. In addition, the visit of the Thuringian delegation not only strengthened business ties but also further consolidated political dialogue.
