Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park

Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park (referred to as SGIP hereinafter) was established in 2018 with a total area of 27.5 km², located in the west of Changzhou, Jiangsu. SGIP has been one of the ideal investment destinations in China for small- and medium-sized companies from German-speaking countries and regions, and also the platform for Sino-German cultural and educational exchange and bilateral communication. Up to now, SGIP has gathered 76 projects from the German-speaking region, mainly focusing on e-mobility, electronics & communications, biotechnology & medical device, and high-end equipment manufacturing industries. Notable companies include MD Electronics, a renowned automotive electronics manufacturer from Germany; SGB, a well-known German dry-type transformer manufacturer; Eckert & Ziegler, a prominent German supplier of radioactive medical devices; Schweizer, a world-leading producer of PCBs; Festool, a world-renowned manufacturer of power and pneumatic tools; RAPA, Zimmer, Kesseböhmer, FEW, etc.

SGIP was named German Industry 4.0 (Changzhou) Manufacturing Base by Baden-Württemberg State and Jiangsu Provincial Government in 2018 and was authenticated by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce as the First Batch of Provincial-Level International Cooperation Industry Parks in 2020. In 2022, SGIP was designated as the Sino-German Demonstration Project of Energy Efficiency in City Quarters by the Development and Reform Commission of China and Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany. Moreover, SGIP has already established all-round support work mechanisms with different-level government departments, can help companies interested in the Chinese market and those planning to enter Europe find the ideal solutions for further development.

With various customized supporting policies for investors, more and more enterprises have chosen SGIP and achieved success. For each project, we set up a specific professional service team with multi-lingual team members to provide all-around services to investors to cover investment approval, business registration, environmental protection approval, energy efficiency evaluation, workshop construction, and other services.

SGIP is located in the city with abundant high-quality education and local human resources in China. Annually, more than 38,000 students graduate from local universities and vocational colleges. One of the top universities in China - Hohai University, has relocated its new campus here in 2023. The HWK Training and Certification Base for Highly-Skilled Talents in German Dual System education has been established in SGIP to provide customized training programs at different levels. In addition, SGIP has abundant labor resources, including plenty of local skilled technical workers, with a significantly competitive labor cost in the area of Yangtze River Delta.
