China’s GDP grew by 6.9% in 2017 and has accelerated for the first time since 2010. Foreign trade developed positively in 2017, after declines in both previous years: Exports +7.9%; Imports +15.9%. Imports grew significantly lower in December compared to the yearly average, import growth fell behind export growth. Inflation developed moderately in 2017, resulting in an inflation rate of 1.6% for the entire year. In December producer prices continued their increase (+4.9%). Their growth, however, has slowed down from previous months. The data sheet also includes aggregate figures for the calendar year of 2017.
