How does the export-oriented German economy assess its business prospects in an increasingly difficult global environment?

The “AHK World Business Outlook”, released by the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in May 2018, describes the current situation of German companies abroad and their expectations on global economic growth. The survey conducted by the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) involved some 5,100 German companies, branches and subsidiaries, as well as companies with a close connection to Germany.

With a growth rate of more than 6% China continues to grow, even though there has been a slight slowdown in growth for some time now. 62 percent expect consistent economic growth. The top ranked challenges in China according to the survey respondents are skills shortage (50%), economic policy framework (41%) and trade barriers (38%).
